Italy 2022

On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, Irene and I left St. Rose Parish in Sacramento by bus and traveled to San Francisco, where we boarded a flight to Frankfurt, Germany. From there, we connected to a flight bound for Venice, Italy. We were traveling with a group led by Fr. Jose Beltran on what would become a memorable 10-day pilgrimage through Italy. Our first stop was Venice, where we spent two nights. We then traveled to Padua for a visit before continuing on to Florence, where we stayed for another two nights. After leaving Florence, we journeyed to Assisi and spent the night there before heading to Rome, where we remained for the rest of the pilgrimage. On Saturday, November 19, we departed Rome and flew to Zurich, where we connected to a flight back to San Francisco. During our journey, a passenger on our flight over the English Channel experienced a medical emergency, requiring the aircraft to divert and land in Amsterdam. Although this unexpected stop delayed our trip by several hours, we ultimately arrived home safely and were grateful for a wonderful pilgrimage and a safe return.
